Antiques
Tina gifted me the medicine cabinet. It used to live in her apartment on the Upper East Side. Before that, it was kept in her father’s garage. It’s made of solid wood, and it’s got two shelves behind the patina’d mirror. The antique now lives in the kitchen of my Brooklyn apartment, and offers a quiet comfort in it’s reflection, keeping me company while the water boils.

What makes antiques beautiful? The cherished ones, or even the discarded and forgotten…
Peculiarities, flaws, rarities, history, memories. Maybe.
Perhaps it is that they are subject to the influence of time. Like you, and me.
